Elections matter--and so does activism
Across our nation, Republican lawmakers are trying to ban the teaching of Social and Emotional Leanting (SEL). Many school boards that have been taken over by right-wing partisans demand the cessation of the program. Depriving students of the opportunity to develop SEL skills could happen here in Klickitat County, too.
Songer hires Loren Culp to run the county jail
Maybe you've heard the rumors and you thought, nah, that ain't gonna happen. Well, it did. In a move that would sound like a Saturday Night Live skit if it were not so dangerous, on March 1, Klickitat County Sheriff Bob Songer announced the hiring of his fellow Constitutionalist lawman, Loren Culp, to supervise the county jail.
