2022 Labor Day Picnic!

The kind of synthesis we like...
Have fun + get things done

Mark your calendars! It's true--doing our part to save democracy, reclaim reproductive rights, protect our planet, and promote humane policies does not mean we can't have fun at the same time. Help us prove this proposition by joining us at our Labor Day Picnic 4:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 5, at Rhinegarten Park in White Salmon.

Together, we'll break bread--the flat variety with various toppings--and sip a (non-alcoholic) beverage. No one needs to worry about cooking or baking, although we won't turn away anyone's culinary contribution, even if it's simply crackers or chips. We'll catch up with each other's activities, commiserate, celebrate, and solve the world's problems.

Thus fortified, we'll roll up our sleeves to identify fabulously effective "Get Out the Vote" activities leading up to the November 8 General Election. We'll accomplish this informally while picnicking and more formally at a short meeting beginning at 6 p.m. for those who are able to stick around. (You're welcome to come to the meeting only, if your circumstances don't allow you to join us at the picnic.)

None of us chose to live during an era when our right to vote, our reproductive rights, and our democracy are under assault by a conspiracy-addled, fascist-dabbling, violence-threatening opposition party, but here we are. Let's stand and be counted. We hope to see you at our picnic, but if you cannot attend, we hope that each and every one of our readers will reflect and act upon ways to help elect Democratic candidates in November.
