Wish They Were Back in School?
Across the whole of Europe, children are back in school. The same is true in Canada. What’s preventing our children from returning to school in much of the United States?
The answer is simple: Canada and Europe have largely corralled the coronavirus. Their leaders have paid attention to health professionals, instituting guidelines that have reduced infections to levels vastly below those in the United States. For example, on September 11, Canada reported zero deaths related to coronavirus and 702 new cases. On the same day, the United States reported 1,004 deaths and 43,811 new cases.
With so much coronavirus rampaging across the U.S., it’s much more dangerous for children to be in school here than it is in the rest of the highly developed nations. Moreover, as long as Donald Trump and his Republican enablers sabotage common sense measures such as wearing masks, our infection rates will remain lethally high.
Everyone wants our children back in school. Democrats. Republicans. Independents. We all grieve for the setback in their education, despite the stellar efforts of educators to offer what they can in remote learning. This loss could have been prevented.
It’s time to vote Democrat.
