The Klickitat County Republicans and Democrats agreed to collaborate on sponsoring this Meet and Greet event! We encourage our members to attend.
Volunteer Needs
We still very much need volunteers to give a few hours of their time for White Salmon Valley S.D. Board candidates Kris Ostness and Matt Byrne. We'll be canvassing residences in White Salmon and possibly Bingen on Saturday. We'll meet at 9:15 a.m. at the Nativ Cafe (formerly the Northshore Cafe) on Jewett Blvd. If you can help us, please send us an email.
If you want to write a Letter to the Editor in support of any particular candidates, now is the time. The deadline for LTEs for both the Goldendale Sentinel and the Columbia Gorge News is noon on Friday. Because there are likely to be a lot of LTEs in upcoming editions, we recommend that our LTE writers get their letters submitted soon and that those letters be short. While it's quite legitimate to point out key issues, please avoid writing disparaging or inflammatory statements.

Goldendale Area Candidates Night: 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23 at the Goldendale Grange, 228 E. Darland Drive (sponsored by the Goldendale Chamber of Commerce)
White Salmon Area Candidates Meet and Greet: 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, at Pixan Taqueria, 216 E. Jewett Blvd. (Complimentary Appetizers, Collaboratively sponsored by the Klickitat County Republicans and the Klickitat County Democrats)
We strongly encourage Democrats to support and attend both events!
Another event isn't a candidates event, but we encourage our folks to consider attending 14th Legislative District Representative Chris Corry's October 26 listening sessions. Representative Corry will be at Carmen's Kitchen in Bingen at 9 a.m. and the American Legion Post 116 Building in Goldendale at 11 a.m.
Endorsements and Recommendations
The KCDP engages in a specific process in order for "endorse" a candidate. Because this year's races are nominally non-partisan, some candidates understandably declined to seek a formal endorsement. Nevertheless, we do include recommendations for some offices whose candidates declined to seek our endorsement. Most offices ended up with only one candidate. The lack of an endorsement or recommendation by the KCDP does not imply we do not favor such candidates.
